But for security practice now I split the one account into a few and rename accordingly for better management.
#Synology backup client Pc#
One last thing, if I had previously already copied the data from my PC to NAS, are there anyway to skip the syncing/backup process again if I edit the connection in the Drive client on my PC? The reason I'm asking this is because initially I setup a blanket account for everything and had already performed the sync once. Also, anyone know if there are any speed difference between sync task and backup task? That or to be able to manually control the sync rate of sync task instead of being always-active? Basically I'm trying to find a best of both world options, if that's even possible. Is there anyway to get backup task to perform like sync task without following the windows structure as it make things really disorganized to navigate through when accessing the files from my mobile devices. NAS_name/sync_folder/PC_name/folder1/folder2/folder3/sync_folder What I wish to achieve (which can be done by sync task, short of the schedule controls): For some reason, setting up a backup task will always try to replicated nested folders in the same folder structure as on my PC, which is really annoying me to no end. As I only need to sync the data one-way from PC to NAS like once a day or week, I figured using backup task is better suited as compared to the always-active sync task. So recently I got myself a DS218+ and was setting up backups via the Synology Drive so I can easily access the data on my mobile devices.
